This six week course on Friday mornings will help you build a solid foundation in watercolour painting, whilst growing your confidence and enjoyment in the process.

Suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have been painting for a while but wish to refresh their skills and build their enthusiasm in a supportive enviroment.
 
What will I learn?
 
You will grow in confidence as you learn, apply and combine a broad range of watercolour techniques which will provide a foundation for your future practice.
You will develop a personalised repertoire of favourite techniques.
You will learn to paint in a way that brings you joy.
Each week a different technique (or range of techniques) will be explored in a relaxed, playful way (for example: mark making, flow, texture, layering, resists, and mixed media) and then we will have a go applying them.
You will learn through; demonstrations, looking at a range of inspiration and examples, practicing the technique with guidance, and applying it to difference subjects and uses.
You will also learn the basics of colour theory, and receive guidance about materials.
 
What is included in the price:
 
All essential materials will be included, and you will be allocated a set of paints which you can borrow for the duration of the course to practice at home.
A simple A4 sketchbook is provided which will be used to collate what you have created and learnt during the course. It will be a useful guide for future reference.
Hot drinks are not included but a jug of water and home made snacks will be provided.
 
How will it differ from the usual workshops?
 
We will be able to go into more depth with the different techniques as there is time spent on creating a specific finished artwork each session.
You will build up more of a thread of a direction in your personal practice as we progress through the weeks than through coming to the one off workshops.
You will be able to be inspired by joining others on their creative journey and learning from eachother.
You won’t come away with a framed painting or cards each time, but you will leave with a sketchbook with a selection of samples of techniques from each week (which you can look back on for future reference).
 
REMAINING PAYMENT: If you select to pay the deposit now, the details will be sent to you a month before the course starts with a link to pay the remaining £110 fee.
 
NB: There is no need to being anything to the first session, what you need will be provided.
