Monday Morning Paint Club: DETAILS
DATE CHANGES TO MONTHLY WORKSHOP:
If for any reason it is not possible for the paint club to go ahead on the 2nd Monday of the month it will be moved to a different Monday (at the usual location and time). If this takes place, two weeks’ notice will be given. If it is not possible to give notice more than two weeks ahead of time, and a member is unable to attend the new time then a refund of £30 will be offered.
NUMBERS:
The maximum number of members for the Monday morning Paint Club will be 12 people.
ETHOS
Paint Club aims to be a place where members feel welcomed, encouraged, and valued. It is expected that members not only show respect to others within the group, but make an effort to support others, showing kindness and offering encouragement. In the unlikely event that members find an individual’s attitude or behaviour negatively impacts the dynamics of the group, this may be discussed with the individual in question. If the situation is not resolved then in the interests of the wider group this person may be requested to end their membership.
CANCELLATIONS OF MONTHLY WORKSHOP:
In the unlikely event of a monthly workshop having to be cancelled completely, and not moved to a different Monday, a refund of the full cost of the membership for that month will be given.
CONSISTENCY OF MEMBERS
The majority of time there will be consistency of members attending from week to week. If unable to attend, it is not permitted to allow others to have your place– this is to support the goal of building community and providing a space to get to know each other.
As and when members end their membership and new members join to fill those spaces, there will be some natural change to the group over time.
TEACHING CONTENT
In order to allow time for members to paint and connect without interruption, the teaching will be more hands off than during one off workshops or courses. The theme will be demonstrated and there will be some practicing facilitated of core techniques after which members will be able to continue on their own. If more assistance or demonstration is desired after this point, members simply need to ask for it.
THEME CHOICES
Each month there will be an option to vote for a choice out of three different themes. Options will be sent out in an email prior to the session. Themes will not be repeated within the year, and if they cover a similar technique or subject to previous themes, an option for a variation will be given. Members are free to bring their own watercolour projects along rather than following the theme if they wish. Options will not be given for the very first session.
CANCELLATION
Membership may be cancelled at any point by emailing a request to info@sarahdinsdalestudio. Payments will be ended 5 weeks after the email was sent (within which time membership continues). If there is a waiting list and a new member is able to join within that period then the notice period may be shorter, or immediate.
TERMLY CREATIVE TREAT
Each (full) term an envelope will be given to members either via mail or in person. This may include a paint or paper or painting tool sample / item, and / or a small gift featuring an original painting or design eg postcards / cards / mini-prints.
EMAIL COMMUNICATION
After each Paint Club a photo relating to the theme covered, along with brief instructions of how to paint the theme (bullet points) will be sent to all members (present or absent from the session) within a week of the session.
TROUBLESHOOTING EMAIL SUPPORT
Each month members have access to one troubleshooting email. Members may wish to ask questions about how to achieve specific techniques covered in previous workshops, receive feedback on a painting or ask for other watercolour related information. These emails aim to be answered within two weeks at the latest.
CHANGES TO PRICING
All members who join before February 2027 have a guaranteed founder price of £35 fixed for the first 6 months. Following that time period there may be small changes to the monthly price. A minimum of two months’ notice will be given before any changes are made.
